Anything that appeals to me

Team 4lb 13oz

It was almost three years ago when Amelia came into the world—six weeks early. She was tiny, but tenacious. Her strong spirit and the miracles of modern medicine saw her through those critical first days in the neonatal intensive care unit. Today, she is a healthy, happy, laughing, dancing, jumping little girl who knows no limits to her potential.

The medicine that gave us this miracle did not come free. The knowledge necessary to support premature babies has been accumulated through decades of expensive research—research that has been funded by the March of Dimes. Amy and I know that Amelia’s good health is owed, in part, to the March of Dimes.

Every year, we show our support for this life-changing charity by walking in the March for Babies and collecting contributions to fund future research and programs. Together, our efforts save other families from the anxiety, fear, and grieving that is too common when a child is born prematurely. We believe that our efforts, collectively, can create a future where all babies will be born healthy.

Please take a moment to donate any amount to our March for Babies team.

Please note that I’ve found the Safari browser is not supported for making donations. (I’m as unhappy about this as anyone.)

It sounded good in my head

Me: Do you remember that Ignite presentation from the guy with the iPhone app idea that involved throwing the iPhone up in the air?

Her: Yeah!

Me: The new iPhone adds a sensor that allows it to know its orientation in space.

Her (now dubious): Yeah…

Me: So my app idea is that you throw the iPhone up in the air and when you catch the phone it shows a slow motion replay of its flight.

Her: No.

Me: But I haven’t gotten to the best part. During the replay, just as the phone launches pauses and plays the Dukes of Hazard sound! You know—the General Lee’s horn!
